Why should you be unblocked?

This is the entire IPv6 address space for EE, the largest mobile network provider in the UK. It has over 26 million subscribers. It seems incredibly excessive to block millions of potential editors from Wikipedia. I was trying to correct some information in an article, when I was hit with this block. It won't even let me create an account. EE is my only internet provider, so I'd have to walk to my local library, almost a mile away, to make an edit - assuming that also isn't blocked. So I'm not going to bother. But you should know what effect blocking entire ISPs has on those who wish to make a contribution.

Yamla 2022-11-23 15:06:44 Looking at our logs, it seems your IP address is either shared or part of a large range that has been blocked to prevent an abusive user from vandalizing our site. Unfortunately, while this adequately protects our site, it does affect a large number of innocent users. You can, however, still edit while logged in with an account. I'm assuming you don't have one already, so you can request one at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Request_an_account To speed this up, it's a good idea to check https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Special:CentralAuth to make sure that the username you want is not already taken. Apologies for the inconvenience this causes, but I assure you large blocks like this are a last resort.
